Hey guys, my name is Riven Phoenix and welcome to the structure of man learn to draw the human
figure from your mind training course.
Okay, so in the previous lesson, we went through this process of comparing all the formulas
that we've been working with and looking at how we can now begin to create a three-dimensional
understanding of the human skull, right?
And so we need an ability, a very rapid ability, to draw the human skull out without
much effort because we now, we've got the mind to understand how everything is working
in the human skull.
So what we want to do now is use a method of artistic thinking, is where we can now
use an invention, this is all an invention here.
Now we will, from it, create a three-dimensional invention concept.
So if you take a look at this, you'll notice something very cool in here and that is that
if you look at how this is being compared, take a look at this area here.
See this shape here?
If you turn this into a circle, right, this will give us the ability, which is draw out
the human skull in just using one circle, right, but not only this, take a look at this.
If you have this circle, and if you now divide this circle in half, so I'm going to
here to just divide this circle in half, I'm looking at this circle, I'm going to divide
this circle in half, right?
So if you take a look at the distance over here, you can just add that same distance.
See this distance, this distance, it's just this distance adding here, right?
So you now you know that okay, as long as I make this circle, I just need to add a
distance down to draw out the skull.
So the other thing that we also should note is that when the lips and all the, like the
chin comes and then the lips, what happens is that this just becomes a flat area, right?
So we just need to understand that we all, what really we're just going back to the
same concept that we've been doing when we drew out the actual toolkit is that we just
draw a circle here and just come back, but what this gives you is a massive understanding
of how you can now draw out the skull in a 3D form by using just a ball shape, right?
And once we have this, if we take a look, if we divide this ball shape in half, let
me just divide this in half over here, I'm just going to divide it in half, going in
this direction.
Look at what's happening to the jaw, right?
The jaw is turning with a mouth, right?
So we also have this as a clue, right?
So we've done a circle.
So because where this is, there's the approximation of this is so close, we can just put the jaw
over here because when the meat goes on it, it'll just be like this anyways and it comes
in this angle just like this.
Okay, so that's one concept and the other thing is even from the front is the same thing.
We can just draw it out using a ball shape, the front of the head and could have just
done this, right, and we can just wing it by going in this way, we know how this is
going to work, as long as where the mouth is, look where it turns, right, this is the
mouth, right, this is the bottom of the teeth, this is where it's turning over here from
the front and this is where the mouth is, this is where the turn came, right, where the
mouth was under it, where the mouth is over here, but under the teeth, right?
So it's like this term over here that we can just simplify there, right, where the mouth
is, I'm just going to do it kind of like under it, right?
So you can do different variations of it, right?
So that's one concept.
So to understand that, what I'm seeing is that now when I draw out the skull, I could
have just done like a circle over here, right, and just done this and because of where
this line is, look where it's meeting, this junction, right?
I could have just done this and come in this direction over here like this, right, because
look where this ends, right, it's here, this is here, right, that from here to here, it's
that the half of this and the half of this.
So over here is the half of this, this, I know that this is just going to be the back
of the skull, right?
We've simplified this concept so much that we just understand and basically where this
jaw is is ending on the half of the circle, see, this, this is half and we divided this
and half this over the jaw is, so over here is the same thing, half of this, we know that
this is where the jaw is supposed to be and this will give us the idea for the jaw over
here, right?
So now let's take a look at understanding how to do this front area over here, right?
So we already know that this line here is the eye line over here, right?
But the half of the circle is always the brow line, so when I divided this in half over
here, I know that this the brow is going to be here, obviously the eyes are going to
be here because look, if I take two lines over here just like this, automatically this
just be it turns into, this is the center for the eye line, this is my brow area.
So now we know that we just need to understand where the eye line is, it's just going to
be like this, right?
It's just going to be coming in this direction over here, just like this, so basically you
can just come like this and puff up the nose over here, right?
So you know that okay, it's just going to be like this and I just, from where this
brow is, I already know that if I do this, it's going to be the bottom of the nose anyways,
right?
So by this in three different parts, this is the top of the mouth, right?
So once I've done this, what I'm going to do now is just take a look at the eye socket
and look at this line over here where this is going, it's just basically going a little
down over here in this area where the jaw is, right?
So for the eye socket, I already know that I just need to do the eye socket like this
and just go in this direction over here, I already know that I need to come pretty much
with the, the nose is like this and here I pretty much got the skull down and over here,
I can just eyeball this, right?
Look where this is going, like this, over here, I can just eyeball this and make it like
so, right?
And this gives me a very quick understanding of how to draw out the skull very fast.
Right?
So you should just study your formula to see what I've shown you so far, so how easy it
is going to be, right?
So over here, it's the same thing, right?
Once you understand where the eye line is, right, this is the brow, you just know where
the nose is going to be, you divide this in three different parts here, you know that
this is going to be the area for the, the mouth and this is the bottom of the, the teeth
and this is going to be a chin area, this is going to be your bottom of the nose, right?
Your eye line and this is going to be your brow, right?
So what this means is that I can, if I had to draw this in 3D, I can just do it like
this, right?
If I, let's say I draw like this ball shape over here, let's say that this is like going
to be the design for the skull, I'm just going to sketch it out and here, I'm just going
to let's say, let's say we're going to do it like this way over here, we're going to
do it like this, we know that as soon as, see this line here in the half, as soon as
I do this, I can just look at this and make an assumption that it's just going to be
here, just like this and I'll get my, to my jaw line over here, just like this, right?
Because where this is, this line here, right, it's just the middle of this.
So I know that this is where the line for the, the brow is going to be and over here
is going to be basically my skull, right?
And over here, we see this understanding of this, where this is, right, we don't need,
we just know that where the, see where the, the brow is over here, look where this is,
compared to the brow, right, the brow area is here and here.
So we know that the brow is going to be here, it's just going to be down, basically I can
just draw out a skull like this going in that direction, right?
This is the brow line and this is my eye line over here, right?
Just like this and here I can just wing it and just go in this direction over here,
right?
Just like this, this is the brow, I came down over here and where this is over here,
see this comparison, this is the jaw line over here, right?
The jaw line over here.
So I just know that, okay, well, it's just going to be like this and over here,
where I have the, the nose for this skull.
If I take the bottom of this and really just divide it in three different parts,
I know the, the mouth area is just going to be here for this skull over here.
And that's it.
Right, so that's how easy it was to understand this.
And of course over here, down here, right?
You can just make, stretch it or do whatever you want and,
and, and, and, and fiddle around with it.
But here this gives you the ability to just conceptually first understand,
really get your feet wet into this idea of how the skull is in its 3D4.
Right, so over here it's going to be just like this, right?
And remember, there's a, it goes in over here.
Right, so see how we just let all the formulas behind so fast?
It's because we just understood where what was going on here, right?
I mean, if you take a look at this, where this eye socket is,
you can just see that it's obviously on this plane.
See, it's just a little bit in.
You just need to draw it like this in this way.
So I'll see you in the next lesson where we will understand this a little bit more.
Because again, this is the same concept where we're going through
where the mind will go through a little frustration process.
So I'll see you in the next lesson.
